HIPs and EPCs are being introduced on a phased basis and already apply to properties with four or more bedrooms....

The opposition motion in the House of Lords to abolish HIPs was passed this week. Commenting on this vote, Shadow Housing Minister Grant Shapps stated: `This is another embarrassing development for the Government as the fiasco over HIPs goes from bad to worse....

Home sellers in England and Wales will have to offer the packs, including documents such as surveys and local authority searches, from 1 June. Critics say the packs, which will cost about £400, are confused and flawed....

The Home Information packs will "go live" on 1st June 2007. Housing Minister Yvette Cooper has confirmed that the government still intends to launch the new home sellers` packs on the scheduled date. The National Association of Estate Agents, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Law Society and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors are all seeking to persuade the government to delay the implementation date....
